Approximately ten years ago, I was scheduled for colonostomy-already hooked up to IV-Dr Beets had several of these scheduled -when it was discovered I had not left off the aspirin I was told this would have to be rescheduled-I fell apart-silly to think about now but all I could think of was having to drink that horrible stuff again-I was sent to his office upstairs to reschedule-he had left the operating room,put on his sport coat, met me in his office and talked to me as the assistant rescheduled-he went the "second mile" for something that was entirely my fault-I've had several of these procedures since then but always remembered to "leave off the aspirin".

As the physician on call in the ER one evening, Dr Beets let me suffer in an ice cold room for four hours before he attended to me. I was vomiting and shivering. When I finally asked for attention, Dr Beets made me feel like a complete jerk saying a sick child had come in and she was more important. Thanks, that really put me in my place.
